
Dr. Tod Cooperman is a noted researcher, writer, and speaker on consumer health care issues. He has been involved in rating health care services and products since 1994 when he founded CareData Reports, a leading managed care consumer research company which later became a division of J.D. Power and Associates.
In 1999, Dr. Cooperman founded ConsumerLab, the leading independent evaluator of dietary supplements and nutritional products. Its test results are frequently cited in the media and can be accessed at www.consumerlab.com. Dr. Cooperman is co author of the book HEALTH, HARM or RIP-OFF? What's Really in Your Vitamins & Supplements?
In 2001, Dr. Cooperman founded PharmacyChecker, the leading resource for evaluating online pharmacies in the U.S., Canada, and worldwide. In addition to providing pharmacy ratings and drug prices to consumers, PharmacyChecker.com verification is now a requirement for pharmacies to advertise on Google AdWords, Microsoft adCenter, and Yahoo! Search Marketing.
Earlier in his career, Dr. Cooperman was involved in the assessment and development of products in the health care field, first as business analyst with Bristol-Myers Squibb Company, then as director of business development for the biotechnology company Synaptic Pharmaceuticals, and then as a consultant with The Wilkerson Group (now a health care consulting division of IBM).
Dr. Cooperman received his combined MD/BA from the Boston University School of Medicine's Six-Year Accelerated Program in 1987 with a major in medical sciences and a minor in economics.
